Unifree Duty Free, prioritizing offering its guests a unique shopping experience in each location, was founded in 1975 by Üstünkaya and Bilginer families. With nearly half a century of experience in Customs-Free Goods Sales Stores Management, it is among the pioneers of Duty Free management in many countries, especially in Türkiye.
Unifree, started its operations to become the best Duty Free operator in Türkiye, and then in 1999 it became the Turkish partner of Gebr. Heinemann SE & Co. KG, one of the largest Duty Free operators and logistics suppliers in Europe, which allowed it to add continuity to its services and activities and to take an important step towards its goals.
It is the managing partner and supplier of ATU, which we established as a joint venture with TAV Airports Holding in 1999 and is the sole operator of Duty Free areas in Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Gazipaşa, Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Skopje, Ohrid, Tunisia, Riga, Medina, Salalah and Bodrum Airports.
